therapeutic & rehab services
TLC is very proud of its top-rated, in-house therapy department. Our therapy services are provided by a team of well-educated therapists from diverse backgrounds. Our physical therapists have achieved their doctorate in physical therapy and are seasoned in therapeutic interventions specifically for the geriatric population. They also have out-patient experience. The Occupational Therapy team of professionals offer an extensive background for everything from bathing, grooming, and hygiene, to orthotics, positioning, and wheelchair management. The speech therapists are certified in Vital Stim and have participated in global programs through ASHA to promote and exchange information with speech therapists from other countries.
The New Rehab Facility
TLC Nursing Center is happy to provide the community with a unique place to go for short-term rehabilitation. Our recently renovated Rehab Facility consists of 12,000 sq. ft. with 14, spacious and beautifully decorated private rooms with private restrooms. The state of the art therapy gym is 1,800 sq ft with equipment that includes an ADL kitchen for training. We are especially proud of our track lift system that allows the therapists to take up to 100% of the weight for a patient to exercise and complete rehabilitation activities. This track system will be ideal for stroke patients, as well as, orthopedic patients that are on a non-weight bearing status post-operatively. Currently, no other area rehab centers have this track system.
TLC has recently remodeled one hall and converted our semi-private rooms to private rooms which now total 27 private rooms. The new living and dining room is equipped with a fireplace and a great place for socialization with other rehab patients and family visits. We also have a beautifully landscaped courtyard.
Administrator Martin Yeoman shares, "The TLC Nursing Center is proud to offer this 12,000 sq. ft. space and use of the state of the art track lift system. This has forever changed our ability to serve the community with a place to go for short-term rehabilitation. We are happy to serve the people of Blount County and the surrounding area."
The public is invited to reach out to us at 205-625-3520 to arrange for a tour.
