TLC Nursing Center accepts the following methods of payment:
  • Traditional Medicare A & B
  • Private Payment
  • Medicaid
  • HMO (Managed Medicare) such as VIVA Medicare, BCBS Blue Advantage, Humana Choice, AARP United HealthCare, Cigna HealthSprings,  and Windsor Health Plan.  There are different copays with each HMO contract. Please refer to your eligibility benefits with your contract.

Traditional Medicare Guidelines

Traditional Medicare has very specific guidelines regarding what it takes to qualify for a Medicare stay in a skilled nursing facility.  To qualify, an individual must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Traditional Medicare coverage
  • Three-Day Qualifying Hospital Stay
  • Medical Need for around-the-clock skilled nursing care and/or a need for therapy services.

As long as the individual meets all of these requirements, then Traditional Medicare should pay for the following amounts for a skilled nursing facility stay:

  • Days 1-20 Medicare pays 100%
  • Days 21-100 Medicare pays all costs except a resident co-pay

For individuals who qualify, Medicaid may pay part or all of the Traditional Medicare co-pay days 21-100.  (Some other types of supplemental insurances will also cover Medicare co-insurances, i.e., BCBS C+ Plan F). Medicare and Medicaid coverage can be very complicated.
